Vision, Mission, Values

Our vision, mission, and values give you a more detailed insight into what we are working towards and how we work. We believe that alignment and understanding of these three things is important for fruitful partnerships.

Our Vision

Our vision is to live in a world where nature is thriving and everyone cares for it.

Where governments and businesses see the natural world as integral for their growth and development. Where communities on the frontline of conservation value and are responsible for the protection of the natural environments that they are connected to, and where wider society understands and acts for nature.

Our Mission

Our mission is to proactively support those who are expertly and passionately working towards a world where nature is truly valued.

We are committed to supporting our partners in as many ways as possible. That might be through financial support, making connections, offering business mentoring, or anything else that would be useful. We want to work with partners who are committed to protecting and preserving the natural world, so that it thrives today and in the future.

Our Values

  • We build strong relationships with our partners, seeking to add a personal touch whilst remaining respectful of time and energy. We value learning from and sharing with one another, in a way that goes beyond financial support and might include knowledge sharing, networking sharing, and business mentoring.

  • We endeavour to be open and transparent about the way that we work. You'll find clear and up-to-date information in our reports and on our website.

  • As a relatively young organisation, we are constantly learning. We aren't afraid to try new things, make mistakes, and learn from those mistakes. We seek to keep up-to-date on changes within the sector and within our partner organisations and, where needed, respond quickly and usefully. We are also appreciative of and responsive to feedback from our partners.

  • We want to be knowledgeable funders so that we can best support the organisations that are working towards our vision of the world. This includes knowledge of the conservation sector, including the colonial history associated with this space, and knowledge of the philanthropic sector, including issues such as DEI.

  • We recognise that engaging in nature conservation is a luxury. Many millions of people do not have their basic needs met, which makes it challenging for them to commit time, energy and resources to protecting nature. And yet the threat faced by our natural world is so urgent. This is one of the key reasons that we have chosen to work in this space.

  • We recognise the climate emergency facing our planet, and use this as a lens to guide our work. Protecting the natural world is an integral part of acting to slow the effects of climate change and protect our planet for future generations.
