Underlying Principles

How an organisation operates is just as important to us as the work that they do. Throughout our recruitment process - from research to exploratory calls - we will be looking for organisations that clearly demonstrate the following underlying principles.

  1. We work with collaborative organisations

In order to move quickly towards our vision of the world, collaboration is absolutely key. Our partners collaborate internally, with other organisations in the sector, and with other relevant stakeholders.

2. We work with honest organisations

Our partners are honest about their work. This means celebrating successes, but also being open about challenges faced or mistakes made. We have seen that challenges can lead to important future changes or entirely new approaches that are often more beneficial in the long run.

3. We work with organisations that understand context

For us, this means our partners are aware of issues that affect their work. Whether this be political changes impacting nature conservation, the historic influence of colonialism, or the importance of DEI in the sector.

4. We work with organisations that see their work through a climate lens

In the same way that we recognise the climate emergency and how protection of the natural world can contribute, our partners also see their role in tackling this challenge.

5. We work with organisations who use conservation evidence

We understand the value of undertaking evidence-based conservation in increasing the likelihood of successful outcomes and limiting wasted resources. We like to work with organisations that understand the value of conservation evidence and can demonstrate how they use, or consider, this in their work.
